Optional ClearType(TM) fonts usage
Smoothing (coloring) of fonts serves to enhance their legibility on LCD displays. Since smoothing of fonts in applications that display large amounts of text significantly increases network traffic most remote access methods switch ClearType(TM) usage off by default or even block it altogether for remote execution of applications.
The Winflector software does also switch font smoothing off by default, however, it allows the user to switch this feature back on. This option may be useful for applications executed remotely in a fast network (e.g. LAN) or for applications that display small amounts of text (for example only in the application menu).
