Hi,

I have a shortcut file to an application created in Windows version (it's localed in C:Winflector\client\tclicons\AppName@IP.wfp file). From a desktop file I know that it's execute with command: C:\Winflector\client\wfc.exe -elnk=AppName@IP.wfp. I presume that AppName@IP.wfp file contain an encrypted login and password, but I don't know them. Is there any way that I can use this shortcut file under Linux version? I have copied the tclicons directory to the Linux version, but ./wfc -elnk=AppName@IP.wfp command doesn't work. I will be very grateful for any help in this regard.

Best regards,

John

I am sorry, but Windows and Linux .wfp files are not compatible.

I've made some investigation and it turns out that it is possible to convert *.wpf files from Windows to Linux format. You can do it with the following command:

iconv -f UTF16 -t UTF32 file_from_windows.wfp > file_for_linux.wfp

But this will work only for not encrypted files. For the encrypted ones the conversion is impossible.

Please don't take it as the officially supported solution but rather as a hack which may work. I can't even guarantee that it will work for all not encrypted files. The general answer is: Winflector is not intended to work this way.

It is an encrypted file and as you said this hack may works only for non-encrypted files. Nevertheless thank you for your effort, maybe your answer will be valuable for someone.

Best regards,

John
