we noticed a file named MNF8716.wft in one of our folders. we saw it just after we edited a file in said folder. the file's timestamp was recent (around the time of editing said file).

the first few lines of the contents are as follow:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

<!-- Winflector-modified manifest v. 1.0 - do not edit this comment -->

<assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0">

<dependency>

<dependentAssembly>

....

anything for us to be concerned about? (we are using winflector server 3.9.4.0e)

thanks for any help

Before starting application Winflector prepares modified activation context in the file named MNFPID.WFT (PID=process id).  Normally this file is deleted right after being used.

In general, if the activation files do not accumulate with every application start this is not a problem.

For some applications (that use comctl32.dll version >= 6.0) you can switch off Winflector activation contexts creating winflector/server/guiapp.cfg file with

full_application_path -actctxoff

option inside.
